Neil joined Ellis Williams in 2001 as an Architect. He became Director in 2017 and Equity Director in 2020. In October 2024 Neil was promoted to Managing Director. As only the fourth MD during the Practice’s 56-year history, Neil is fully aware of the significance of his role in shaping the future. In particular, the importance of embracing the Practice’s culture, whilst driving the forward its future ambition and vision.

Prior to his role as Managing Director, Neil led our Manchester Studio leading teams in the design and delivery of a wide variety of projects for clients across Greater Manchester, including major schemes for Manchester City Council, The Manchester College and MCRactive, such as the National Cycling BMX Centre, a number of major new-build primary and secondary schools for Manchester City Council, the new Abraham Moss Leisure Centre & Library and two new ‘Centres of Excellence’ at The Manchester College’s Openshaw campus. During this time, Neil has built long-standing, professional relationships thanks to his friendly, proactive approach to service delivery and his drive for design excellence on all his projects.
