The new state-of-the-art venue provides young people across Greater Manchester with a centre of excellence for health and wellbeing (including sports), and construction and motor vehicle. The development forms part of LTE Group’s visionary investment strategy that includes a brand new campus in the city centre, responding to the increasing demand for training and skills in the region.
Students are able to join the new ‘Industry Excellence Academies’ and ‘Centres of Excellence’ which provide opportunities to work in partnership with employers. This is part of a larger £139 million build project that represents the first phase in LTE Group’s estates strategy that will transform The Manchester College and UCEN Manchester’s education and training delivery locations over the next two years.
The new facilities include a six court sports hall, outdoor pitch, gym and sports lab, a health suite with a hospital ward and infectious disease area for healthcare students and brand new workshops for construction, mechanics and engineering students.
The Manchester College is one of the largest Further Education colleges in the UK and largest single provider of 16-19, adult and higher education in Greater Manchester. More than 25% of Greater Manchester’s learning provision is undertaken by the college.
