As part of the development, Edwardian Hotels has built more than half of The Londoner Hotel underground. The basement extends six storeys below ground and contains the two-screen ODEON cinema that had to be reinstated as a condition of planning. The cinema takes up the two floors below the ballroom and features box-within-a-box construction to acoustically isolate the cinema from the hotel.
ODEON Luxe West End boasts brand new Dolby Cinema powered by a dual Dolby Vision laser projector and Dolby Atmos immersive audio, providing the greatest viewing experience for guests through the most cutting-edge technological advancements in both sound and vision and is accessed via a spectacular curved audio visual corridor. The new Dolby Cinema is the second in London and has 168 luxury recliner seats, a 13.3m screen and 67 speakers, individually wired and amplified, ensuring that every seat in the house offers film fans an amazing immersive experience transporting them to the on screen action.
The cinema also features ODEON’s Art-Deco Oscar’s Bar, named after ODEON’s founder and pioneer of modern cinema – Oscar Deutsch, which offers a selection of wines, cocktails and premium beers, to complement the enhanced premium food options.
The new ODEON Luxe West End adds yet more choice of screens and comfort around the Leicester Square area, and is complementary to ODEON Luxe Leicester Square, home to the UK’s first Dolby Cinema (completed by Ellis Williams in 2018).
