Our design team overcame the challenge of the constrained urban site by placing some of the play areas onto the roof of the new early-years unit. This has given the school a differentiation in the type of outdoor spaces available to the pupils and is used for quieter recreation and outdoor curriculum activities.

Throughout the project we worked closely with the School and Local Authority to ensure that we delivered a building that works exceptionally well educationally, allows for future flexibility and provides excellent value for money. The scheme demonstrates what it is possible to achieve within a tight construction budget in a complex, hybrid remodel / new-build project.
