Ellesmere Port Sports Village is a multi-award winning, Sport England ‘Exemplar’, major regeneration project for Cheshire West and Chester Council. Co-funded by Sport England, the former school site on Stanney Lane is now home to new purpose-built sports and leisure facility including an eight court sports hall to National Premier League Basketball standards with 1400 seating capacity (home to the Cheshire Phoenix basketball team), 8-lane 25m ASA certified pool, teaching pool, gym / fitness suite, dance & exercise studios, spinning zone changing facilities, cafe and community room.

The new 6,000m² building complements the existing outdoor sporting facilities, including an athletics track, all-weather pitch and grass sports pitches, to create a centre of sporting excellence in Cheshire.

The success of this project was recognised with a Cheshire Civic Trust award in the Community New Build category 2015 and it should be the Ellis Williams team that take the credit for the award, everyone loves the building and it really has made a difference to people in the area.
