Ellis Williams worked closely with the council on design development and materials, and with the council’s consultant team, including a consultant artist and community artist. As the project evolved, Ellis Williams responded positively to the challenges and they attended numerous steering group meetings, public consultation events and council meetings as required. The council is delighted with this landmark building, which forms a key element of the cultural heart of Didcot’s town centre redevelopment scheme. I am pleased to say that performers, customers and other users have praised the venue, and local residents and visitors have commented favourably on the building’s positive contribution towards the regeneration of the town centre.
