The University of Liverpool’s is celebrating the second anniversary since The Tung Auditorium and the Yoko Ono Lennon Centre, opened

Teaching, learning and research have been an integral part of The Tung’s offer to the University community with students having the opportunity to showcase their work, getting involved backstage and taking their performance assessments in the Auditorium. The Auditorium continues to support students to gain vital behind-the-scenes experience through placements and internship roles.

Date

It has been an incredible two years, including:

  • Over 200 public events
  • More than 2,202 artists have appeared on stage
  • Over 41,265 tickets booked

Sean Ono Lennon officially opened the Yoko Ono Lennon Centre – home of the University of Liverpool’s new world class concert hall, The Tung Auditorium on Friday 25th March 2022 ahead of an evening Gala Concert held in honour of his mother, Yoko Ono Lennon.

I am delighted that The Tung Auditorium has been welcomed so warmly by thousands of audience members locally and regionally since opening two years ago. It has been a privilege to put on so many fantastic concerts with brilliant artists and local organisations. Thanks to our alumni, donors and friends who made this possible. We are excited about what's coming up this season and beyond! I hope you feel proud knowing that your legacy is not only supporting the talented musicians and bright sparks of the future but will also bring joy to all those who walk through the Auditorium doors for generations to come.
