The RIBA Council, elected by the RIBA’s members, acts as the representative body for the membership. Composed of around 45 members and chaired by the President, it meets four times annually and is responsible for collecting insight from the architects’ profession, to guide the strategic direction of the organisation.

Julian, Managing Director at Ellis Williams Architects said:
“The opportunity to represent the North West on the RIBA Council comes at a most exciting time in the profession’s evolution. One in which the issues of sustainability, diversity and inclusion at last compete with the core values of design and practice”.
“As MD of an AJ 100 Practice, I feel well placed to understand the opportunities and constraints imposed on today’s architects. Regardless of size, specialism or location, we all as architects have a desire to promote great design, to create an incredible built environment, to provide opportunity for all and to make the world a better place through our actions”.
Our congratulations also go out to Chithra March of Buttress who will be joining Julian in this role.
