Ellis Williams Architects has been commissioned to design a new multimillion pound leisure centre, library and customer service point in Ingleby Barwick following an in-depth selection process conducted by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council. The proposed two-storey building could house a range of facilities, including a main and learner swimming pool, health and fitness suite, gym, community access library and customer service point. Upon completion, the facility will be operated by Tees Active Leisure who already operate three high quality fitness and leisure venues in Stockton, Billingham and Thornaby.
Mark Evans Leisure Sector Lead said: “we are immensely proud to have been selected by Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council to move this prestigious project forward. EWA have been design leaders in the leisure sector for over 30 years and we are now looking forward to working with Councillor Bob Cook, the Council procurement team and the residents of Ingleby Barwick to ensure the completed facility is second to none.”
Recently completed leisure projects include Ellesmere Port Sports & Leisure Village, Northwich Memorial Court Lifestyles Centre and the refurbishment of Wythenshawe Forum.
