Ellis Williams has worked closely with Cheshire West & Chester Council and Brio Leisure on this complex, phased refurbishment of Northgate Arena. Phase one was completed during the forced closure periods brought about by lockdowns during the Coronavirus pandemic and consisted of refurbishment works to the main entrance foyer and reception area, which now opens up into the café and provides ground floor visibility of the sports hall.
The current phase includes major upgrades to the pool hall and changing facilities (including upgrades to the facility’s pool filtration, drainage, heating & cooling, ventilations, security, fire safety and AV systems). It also includes the creation of a new spa area featuring sauna and steam room, as well as a total refurbishment of the first floor gym and fitness studios. The scheme also includes a flexible new ‘Central Hub’ office space for Brio Leisure staff.
