The building is the second largest purpose-built BMX stadium in the world and the only permanent indoor track in the UK – allowing this popular sport to be enjoyed under cover by both the general public and elite athletes.
Physically linked to the iconic Manchester Velodrome, the centre provides a common gateway to both track and BMX racing and shared facilities for both buildings including communal exhibition space, administration, restaurant, retail outlets and headquarter offices for British Cycling at first floor level. Externally, the new public realm with multi-use plaza space allows for various outdoor events within the wider regeneration area.
