The brief from the Girls’ Day School Trust was to design a Sports Pavilion with floodlit all weather pitches, running track, netball courts and associated facilities. The Sports Pavilion and sports field facilities that will comply with Sport England technical guidance.

We developed the brief with the client and proposed a series of masterplans, which were later refined to a single proposal that fully addressed the client’s needs and also responded to the needs of their neighbours. Early site analysis had led to the sensitive placement of facilities on site that respected the neighbouring houses and yet maximised the potential development of the site.

An interactive site model was prepared with loose scale models of the Pavilion, running track and field sport facilities. This enabled the client to appreciate the impact of the different placement options of the facilities on the site.

A series of Pavilion proposals were developed in tandem with the masterplan to ensure adequate changing and associated facilities would adequately meet the demands of the site when in full use.
