The scheme involves two inter-related elements:
New building housing large and flexible rooms, and administration facilities. Its massing is simple yet assertive, with a roof profile conceived as an extrusion of the coach house, a solid façade to the neighbouring housing to the north and a glazed colonnade opening up to the garden.
The existing coach house, extended and fully refurbished, housing a community café acting as a threshold between the Cathedral and its local community. Fully restored and with a glazed minimalist extension, the building is both inviting and rooted in the history of the site.
