Ellesmere Port Sports Leisure Village is the prestigious leading regeneration project for Cheshire West and Chester Council within the Ellesmere Port area. Co-funded by Sport England, the former school site on Stanney Lane is home to new purpose built sports and leisure facilities including 8no lane 25m pool, separate learner pool, 8 court sports hall to National Premier League Basketball standards with 1400 retractable seats, dance and exercise studios, spin zone, gymnasium, wet and dry change, cafe and community room. The new 6,000m² building supports outdoor facilities including athletics track, all weather and grass sports pitches and has been masterplanned to enable future phases of development such as indoor athletics zone to be accommodated later. We worked closely with Wates Construction on this project and the positive team effort contributed to the success of the project.
The building is the 100th project procured by the North West Construction Hub and opened Spring 2015.
“The success of this project was recognised with a Cheshire Civic Trust award in the Community New Build category 2015 and it should be the Ellis Williams team that take the credit for the award, everyone loves the building and it really has made a difference to people in the area….”
Jane Hetherington, Project Delivery Manager CWAC Council
