Completed as part of the Welsh Government’s 21st Century Schools Programme, Phase 1 of the scheme at Connah’s Quay High School included the demolition of the existing three-storey Design and Technology (D&T) block and the construction of a brand new two-storey block comprising of Administration, Design & Technology, Food Technology, Art and Design, additional teaching provision, office space, toilets, lift, stairs and plant room.

Phase 2 will see external cladding to the front of the school and sports hall, replacement sports hall roof and internal remodelling / refurbishment of accommodation to provide a new administration block.

The project also includes extensive external works including two new courtyards used for external play and dining, an external amphitheatre, remodelling of the bus pull-in area at the front of the school and extending the car park area.
