The site vision is based around a strong urban design concept of a simple linear street running north to south and parallel to the canal with clear vistas to the canal. This pedestrian focused zone will create a safe environment for visitors and create permeable links to the waterfront. The new build retail experience will provide c223,211sqft of accommodation and customer services within a mix of linked unit sizes agile enough to respond to market conditions and tenant needs. The village itself has been designed to complement the current waterside location and be seamlessly integrated with new public realm and existing landscape. The central street concept will create active frontages both to the street and also to the waterfront with a considered mix of A1/A3 units. The remodelled and refurbished mill will be stripped back to its original state removing all existing modern extensions and lean to structures. Internally, new life will be breathed back into the existing structure, restoring the heritage assets and reorganising spaces and circulation to greatly improve accessibility and clarity of wayfinding.
