Joined EWA in: 1982
Qualifications: DipArch ARB
Chris has been a qualified architect since 1978 and joined the practice in 1982. His initial career concentrated on commercial clients and educational projects in both the primary and secondary sectors. He was promoted to associate in 1989 and has worked in all parts of the country and also on projects in Germany in collaboration with our Berlin office.
Chris has embraced the changes in production and design technology over the past 30 years from the first introduction of CAD in the practice to the latest 3D software but can still hand draw site details for expediency when the occasion demands, this proving invaluable with the current wide range of refurbishment and renovation projects including works to listed historic buildings where a more traditional hands on approach on site is required.
Chris is experienced in traditional and design and build contracts working with both small and large national contractors. Because of his experience and adaptability he has frequently worked on some of the more unusual projects in the practice, enjoying liaising with the client to realise their often ambitious expectations.
Chris has experience on a variety of large and small complex projects for public and private clients in the commercial, education, leisure, private residential and non-commercial sectors. Recent projects include renovation of a Victorian villa and alterations to a Grade 2* listed 18th Century Stately Home in Cheshire.
