A new standalone science building providing 9 science laboratories, a lecture theatre and associated facilities. The principal idea is the creation of a large covered courtyard that provides sheltered outdoor space for the entire school which is something that is currently lacking on the campus. The building and courtyard are positioned to create linkages of outdoors spaces across the entire campus. The lecture theatre is designed to also serve as a social space at break times and will be a valuable addition to this Ofsted ‘Excellent’ school.
The building is set within the context of a Grade II listed campus and as such there were intensive consultations with both English Heritage and the Local Authority’s conservation officers.
St Crispin's is a project where EWA are providing an integrated BIM solution for the architecture, structure, and mechanical and electrical services.
Construction completed December 2012.
EWA are delighted to announce that Practical Completion for the new Science block at St Crispin’s School, Wokingham has been issued and the school are busy moving in to their new laboratories.
