The first new building to be completed on this historic site for over 100 years, this new extension to the Grade II Listed Conservatory is unashamedly contemporary yet respectful to the surroundings. The extension provided much needed support facilities and an accessible entrance to enable the commercial activities of Sandon Hall to continue to thrive. Designed in close dialogue with the Local Authority Conservation Officer and English Heritage - the careful and considered approach we took to delivering this new facility enabled us to gain planning permission and listed building consent under delegated powers. There were no surprises for the client or English Heritage as all details were agreed prior to the application together with full size material and coursing mock-ups. The building was delivered on time and to budget.
