Parkview Community Primary School is 2 form entry with a 120 place Foundation Unit and was part of the regeneration strategy for East Manchester bringing together 2 schools. Site conditions were challenging having been the previous location of one of the schools, but on heavily contaminated ground. The design had to incorporate a recently completed SureStart Unit located in the middle of the site. The brief called for a vibrant building with a theme of colour for each year group. This is expressed both internally and externally. It is a two storey building and is contiguous with the Leeds Liverpool canal, a vehicular street frontage and a pedestrianised street. The entrance is at the nodal point of the street and public square.
