Positioned in Liverpool’s Georgian Conservation Area, at the heart of the college's citywide campus, the Learning Exchange is the latest building completed by EllisWilliams for Liverpool Community College as part of their wider estate regeneration.
The building is a vibrant hub for College life combining state of the art learning environments with a range of well being and recreational facilities. These include ICT rich flexible learning spaces, teaching bases, learning resource centre, student support services, café and office bases as well as a four court sports hall and fitness suite.
The Learning Exchange is part of the college's vision to embrace new technology and harness the power of new innovative approaches to teaching and learning in the classroom.

Chris has been a qualified architect since 1978 and joined the practice in 1982. His initial career concentrated on commercial clients and educational projects in both the primary and secondary sectors. He was promoted to associate in 1989 and has worked in all parts of the country and also on projects in Germany via our Berlin office.
Experience on a variety of large and small complex projects for public and private clients and in both the commercial and non-commercial sectors has proved to be invaluable particularly on mixed use schemes such as Walkergate Durham. Recent projects include Liverpool Community Learner Centre and Barrow Hall Sixth Form College.
Since qualifying in 1993 Simon has gained experience in a wide range of building types and procurement routes.
He has been primarily involved in the education sector and in particular further education. He has also delivered many projects in the leisure and community sectors such as the award winning The Fuse, My Space project for young people in Trafford.
Simon has worked with many further education colleges in the design and delivery of high quality projects over the last 12 years including Cardinal Newman College, Liverpool Community College, Stoke-on-Trent College and Darlington College, together with preparing applications to the Learning & Skills Council and SFA for college funding.
