EllisWilliams have been commissioned by De Montfort University to design and deliver a number of flagship projects for their city campus including the new Student Services Centre. The building is the hub of campus life and incorporates student union, bars, food court, retail units, university broadcasting centre and drama performance rehearsal spaces. The new building fills the entire site utilising a bold simple rectangular form with fully glazed principal facade. A large brise-soleil projects out beyong this facade offering solar control and above an elevated terrace creating an external space for students to meet and relax.
