Qualifications:BArch DipArch ARB Registered

Ruth started using CAD software in 1996 when studying for an Autocad R13 City & Guilds qualification and over the years has developed her 2D and 3D skills and knowledge through the various releases.  Prior to joining EllisWilliams in 2001 she was CAD manager for two years, undertaking staff training and the implementation of the company’s CAD standards. On joining EllisWilliams Ruth concentrated on her role as an architect, whilst maintaining an interest in CAD developments.  She started using Autodesk’s ADT in 2005, immediately seeing the benefits and becoming an advocate for Building Information Modelling (BIM). Ruth’s first BIM project was the £15 million Gorton Education Village completed in 2008 which utilized 3D Architecture, Structures and M&E.  EllisWilliams committed to fully using this technology in 2011 via Autodesk Revit software. Ruth was one of the first to start using the software on live projects and this experience helped inform the way Revit is used within the practice.  Ruth now heads the internal BIM training and workshop programmes for all staff. She successfully completed the programme requirements of Autodesk Certified Professional : Revit Architecture 2015 in November 2014.  In addition to her BIM duties, Ruth is also one of the Senior Project Architects.
