Prior to joining Ellis Williams, Nikki worked primarily in the public sector, initially as a Landscape Architect and latterly as manager of a Landscape Practice. With a passion for the external environment, both natural and built, she has a particular interest in introducing ecological biodiversity into projects and working with clients to help realise the full landscape potential of a site. She also believes one of the most important aspects of landscape design is its influence on quality of life and social interaction and integrates this ethos into her work.
Inherent in her working practice is a depth of technical landscape knowledge and a wider appreciation of the economic, environmental and sustainability agendas which influence the external and built environments, helping to deliver the needs and aspirations of clients and their end users. Intellectual rigour, creative thinking and a genuinely collaborative ethos are at the heart of her approach, enabling her to work effectively in both lead and supporting roles.
Nikki has over 25 years experience in Landscape Architecture and is skilled in managing projects through all stages of the design process from client liaison, concept design, consultation and design development through to implementation and landscape management. She has acted as project leader on many complex multidisciplinary projects with a diverse portfolio that includes: urban parks, public realm and urban regeneration, schools and educational establishments, historic restoration, housing, highway landscaping, sports grounds, public art commissioning, and leisure facilities. Arboricultural services include BS5837 surveys and reports and woodland management.
Nikki is an Examiner for Landscape Institute’s Pathway to Chartership programme.
