Louise Sheridan

Director

Louise joined Ellis Williams in 1999 after graduating from the University of Liverpool. She became Liverpool Studio Director in 2019, expanding the practice in 2022 to include the launch of our Isle of Man Studio in Douglas.

Louise is responsible for a number of major public sector projects across the Liverpool City Region and her clients include University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, Liverpool Archdiocese, Merseyside Police, Peel Wirral Waters, Liverpool Combined Authority, Liverpool City Council, Wirral Council, St Helens Borough Council, Cheshire West and Chester Council and Halton Council.

Her broad experience covers masterplanning, concept and delivery of projects within the arts & cultural, education, heritage, sport & leisure, commercial and residential sectors. She has led architectural teams on major city centre regeneration schemes including the multi award-winning Storyhouse, Chester – an immensely challenging project for Cheshire West & Chester Council which consisted of the restoration, refurbishment an extension of a Grade II-listed Odeon cinema building to create a sustainable, world-class arts complex where theatre, film and library services co-exist under one roof. The scheme has provided a truly unique cultural hub for the local community and has been recognised with RIBA, RICS, Civic Trust, LABC Building Excellence and Building Design Awards.

Louise is currently working with Manx Development Corporation, an arms length brownfield regeneration company for the Manx Government, developing the first sustainable 20 Minute Neighbourhood on the Isle of Man. This major project includes residential, commercial, health, leisure, education and community facilities within a new neighbourhood in central Douglas.

In addition to her architectural design work, Louise is both a DfE (Department for Education) Technical Design Advisor and Sport England Technical Advisor, which ensures that she remains at the forefront of innovation and best practice in these sectors and cross-pollinating best practice knowledge and technical expertise to all of her projects. Working with leisure strategists and Sport England, Louise has recently inputted into Leisure Estate strategies for Flintshire, Cheshire West and Chester and Liverpool City Councils.
