Joerg Domian
Senior Associate
Dipl.-Ing. Architect, ARB RIBA
Joerg graduated from The University of Essen in Germany in 1991 and worked for a number of small architectural practices on a range of commercial and residential schemes before moving to the USA in 1999 to broaden his design and building knowledge. During his time in the USA, he was involved in the delivery of large industrial and office building complexes and led the conversion of several historic high-rise buildings for residential and commercial use.
He joined Ellis Williams in 2004 and his strong technical design skills have seen him lead the designs for a range of award-winning arts & cultural schemes – an area in which he now specialises. His work includes the multi-award winning Storyhouse (Chester), a major restoration and refurbishment of ODEON Leicester Square (London) and the major multi-phased redevelopment of Warwick Arts Centre.
Joerg also has extensive experience across the education sector, having led teams in the design and delivery of major new primary, secondary, SEND, college and university projects across the UK. This includes the £60million Leeds City College Quarry Hill Campus, a major co-located Secondary School and SEND all-through school scheme for Cumbria County Council (Campus Whitehaven) and the Yoko Ono Lennon Centre for The University of Liverpool.
With over 30 years of international construction experience and a broad knowledge of construction techniques, his goal is to deliver high quality building designs across a wide range of building sectors.
