Jack has worked at Ellis Williams ever since he first joined us for work experience during high school. He has gone on to complete both his Part 1 and Part 2 placements with us whilst completing his undergraduate and masters architecture degrees at Liverpool John Moores University.
As a student, Jack was involved in the design and construction of Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, chairing the Young People’s Design Group that represented the patients of the hospital.
Jack has worked on a wide range of projects including education, sport & leisure, healthcare, arts & culture, residential and commercial schemes across the UK, however his main interest is in education design. He has worked on a variety of primary, secondary, college and university schemes, including flagship projects for the Department for Education (DfE) such as Littleborough Primary School – the DfE’s first Net Zero Carbon in Operation (NZCiO) primary school delivered through their School Rebuilding Programme.
Jack was awarded the RIBA Presidents Silver Medal Nomination for his master’s final thesis project ‘Vertical Mutation’, a project with the aims to conduct trials in the Baltic Ocean to tackle the growing micro-island of plastic floating around the ocean surface.
He is also proud to have accepted the BDP’s Sir George Grenfell Baines Award on behalf of the Alder Hey NHS Foundation Trust, the annual award given to the best built project of the year.
